An Estonian ordinary passport holder planning an eligible short holiday can apply for a Sri Lanka Tourist ETA online. The complete application price through this website is $99. Estonian e-residency by itself is not Estonian citizenship and is not a travel document. The nationality used in the application must come from the passport presented for entry.

An Estonian citizen living in Finland, Sweden, the United Kingdom or elsewhere selects Estonia when travelling with an Estonian passport and enters the actual residence separately. A non-Estonian e-resident should use the nationality of their own passport, not Estonia.

Passport identity and digital autofill

Estonia's digital services make saved identity data convenient, but an immigration form still needs the current travel document. Browser autofill or a password manager can contain an expired passport number. Put the physical passport beside the application and compare every completed field.

Use the passport's international name form and check any Estonian diacritics against the accepted characters. Confirm surname, given names, nationality, birth date and expiry date. Do not assume that a digital identity card supplies all information required for international travel.

Keep accommodation, onward travel and the approval accessible during airline check-in. A fully digital plan is useful only if the files can be opened when the device has no network access or the battery is low.

Estonian families may use different passports or residence documents. Check each traveller's nationality from the passport rather than from a shared booking profile. A child or partner's document should have its own reference, approval and private copy.

If the itinerary combines a ferry, train and flight, store the confirmation for every segment. A delay before Helsinki can affect international check-in and the Sri Lankan arrival date. Recheck the application details when the protected connection is replaced by a separate booking.
