Hungarian citizens and the Sri Lanka Tourist ETA

Hungarian ordinary passport holders planning an eligible short holiday can submit a Sri Lanka Tourist ETA application online. The complete Tourist ETA application price through this website is $99. The application should use the passport that will be presented at airline check-in and on arrival, and the selected purpose should match the real trip.

Residence does not replace nationality. A Hungarian living in Austria, Germany or another European country selects Hungary when travelling with a Hungarian passport, then enters the actual residence where requested. Dual citizens should decide which document will be used before the booking, form and check-in records are created.

Hungarian name order and passport fields

Hungarian names are commonly presented with the family name first in domestic contexts. International forms may label surname and given names differently. Use the passport fields and the form labels together; do not copy a domestic database or rearrange the name to match an old airline account. Check the final confirmation against the passport.

Review diacritics, passport number, date of birth, nationality and expiry date one at a time. If a family member or colleague helps with typing, the passport holder should conduct the last review. A name that looks correct in a booking can still be wrong in an immigration form.

Budapest, Vienna and connecting journeys

A journey may begin in Budapest or at a nearby airport. The departure airport does not change Hungarian passport nationality. Ask the airline about terminal changes, baggage collection and separate tickets in the transit country. A short connection can still require immigration clearance when tickets are separate.

Overnight travel can shift the arrival date by one day. Recheck the final itinerary after a schedule change and keep the first accommodation address with the approval. If the purpose or duration changes substantially, review the appropriate route before departure.

Hungarian group and business-leisure trips

A holiday that includes a short meeting is not automatically the same as a pure tourist trip. Describe the principal purpose honestly and check the appropriate category before payment. A short duration alone does not decide which permission applies.

For group travel from Budapest, ask the organiser for the exact flight arrival date and first accommodation address. Keep your own copy of the ETA reference. If the organiser changes the route, compare the new plan with your approval rather than assuming the old itinerary still explains the trip.

Hungarian travellers may use a euro card for a USD payment. Check the amount shown at checkout and the bank result after authorisation. Keep the bank record, application receipt and approval in separate files so a payment question does not get confused with an immigration decision.
