A Romanian living in Italy, Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom or elsewhere still selects Romania when travelling with a Romanian passport. Enter residence separately. A residence card, place of departure or second nationality does not automatically change the passport nationality attached to the application.

Romanian names, diacritics and family records

Copy the identity details from the passport and follow the form's accepted character format. Romanian diacritics can be displayed differently by airline systems, but that is not a reason to invent a new spelling. Compare the final application with the passport and the booking before payment.

Romanian citizens living elsewhere in the EU should keep residence information and passport nationality in their proper fields. After passport renewal, replace old airline profiles and saved forms. Store the decision with the current document number.

Romanian records after a civil-status change

A marriage, divorce or other civil-status update can leave reservations and bank records under an earlier surname. The passport used for Sri Lanka controls the application identity. Before paying, compare the airline ticket and ask for a correction if it points to a different person on paper. Do not combine old and new surnames merely to make two systems look similar.
